Ghostly War Parade: Relic Hunting

After looking into some rumors about two very powerful items in the near vicinity of Olivine City, it has become imperative that we acquire them so as to not let them fall into the hands of people who would use them for evil and the disruption of the peace I am trying to achieve. It was made known to me that at the Lighthouse, right where we are positioned, resides the Lightning Orb and I trusted that Gambit would be able to acquire it with little effort. So, I sent him there to retrieve that item for our use. Cebarra made mention that the Battle Frontier just outside of the city was home to the Old Sea Map and that he would be willing to go retrieve it for us. I allowed him to head out there to grab it for us. As for me I’m setting sail through the Whirl Islands in an attempt to reach Cianwood City in a timely manner.

Territorial Claims Expand as Initial Shots Are Fired

by Scoops McGee, ION Special Reporter

Viridian City – With the various emerging faction having staked their claim to areas throughout Kanto and Johto, it didn’t take long for these groups to branch out looking to extend their domain. With the desire for control so strong, it was only going to be a matter of time before opposing forces would be clashing on the field of Pokémon battle.

Reports out of western Johto have members of the Ghostly War Parade spreading out around Olivine City and its surrounding areas. The high roller, Gambit took the opportunity the search the Olivine Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is rumored to house the Lightning Orb, which is believed to be related somehow to Zapdos, the legendary lightning bird of Kanto. Cebarra was seen at the Battle Frontier searching around for the Old Sea Map. There are those that believe that this map shows the way to the mythical Pokémon Mew. The leader of the Parade, Spectral was seen setting sail for the Whirl Islands, presumably on his way to Cianwood City. It’s unclear the purpose for his trek there, but it’s crystal clear that he and he his cohorts are looking to bolster their forces with some powerful Pokémon.

Central Johto saw its share of activity as well. Team Requiem looked to further its grasp on the region. Ferra was spotted at Sprout Tower, and is believed to be in possession of the GS Ball. The time travelling Pokémon Celebi is thought to be connected to it, which could spell bad news if Ferra can have that power at his disposal. Icy McHaggis stormed Goldenrod City, claiming it in the name of Team Requiem and hoping to use the Goldenrod Radio Tower to spread Ferra’s propaganda throughout Johto. Barracuda Jones ventured into Dark Cave to claim it as well, however, he ran into some resistance from the Weather Masters.

Driven back by the Weather Masters, Jones was forced to retreat back Violet City. The Weather Masters, however, claimed Dark Cave for themselves thanks to Aya and Riley. Sandverse also secured Mahogany Town for the stormy scrappers in a takeover there. We’re still not sure what the motives behind this trio are.

Northern Johto saw the rag-tag group calling themselves the Wanderers emerging from out of Mt. Mortar. One member, Alec somehow managed to find his way to the Lake of Rage, no doubt looking for the ferocious red Gyarados that inhabit that area. A man by the name of Axl, believed to be leading this group of nomads, took control of Ecruteak City, claiming it a safe haven for Wanderers everywhere. A third major member of this group was reportedly seen still in Mt. Mortar, perhaps as a welcoming committee for anyone looking to wander in that way. Much like the Weather Masters, the motives of these Wanderers is still a secret to any outsider.

Kanto was not deprived of any of the budding action. Zero went to Lavender Town to set up defenses there, as well as gain access to the Lavender Radio Tower to aid in monitoring the activities in Kanto. For some reason, Zero was very suspicious of the Fallarbor Academy Research Team. Custos and PlatinumHowler were dispatched through Diglett’s Cave to Viridian Forest to try and gather more intel about the Hoenn researchers. They got that and more when they encountered Professor Jake Sequoia and Fryday in Viridian Forest.

After defeating both members of the Research Team, HOPE was able to secure the perimeter of Viridian Forest. Sequoia and Fryday were forced back to Viridian City. Taking the opportunity to find out some more information, I followed the scientists back to Viridian City. There, I learned that Professor Trevor Eucalyptus had gone to explore Victory Road. It’s unclear if he was heading to Indigo Plateau, or into Johto to expand their research into both regions. While disappointed about being forced out of the forest, the researchers seemed undaunted to continue their quest for science.

We’ve now seen the sparks of war firing up. It can not be too much longer before the sparks turn into a full blown inferno.
