Umihebi (Gyarados) picked up a pair of KOs, sandwiched around a KO by Kurosawa (Swampert). Zero tried to fight back, with Natsu (Mega Salamence) finally taking down Umihebi. Cody once again called on golden boy to pick up the final 2 KOs of the battle to take a 1-0 lead.

Zero fired back in a big way in Battle 2. Cody was able to again get on the board first with Kurosawa taking down Ivory. Zero responded with Erik scoring a pair of KOs. Cody called on Giaganat to take out the troublesome Erik, but more trouble was on the horizon. Natsu hit the field and wreaked havoc, taking down all 4 of Cody’s remaining Pokémon to draw the series even.

The rubber battle started off in favor of Cody. Kurosawa and Atlas (Terrakion) both picked up early KOs. Zero fought back with Erik taking down Giaganat, but Atlas struck again to KO Erik. Then, Zero bounced back. Poseidon (Milotic) got a KO on golden boy and then was responsible for 2 more KOs via poison. He then got 2 straight KOs at the hands of Anihal (Garchomp) and Penumbra (Umbreon) to gain a 3-2 advantage. The battle had taken its toll though as all 3 of Sethyas’ Pokémon were critically damaged.
