Jeff: Avalugg, Metagross, Magnezone, Nidoking, Garchomp, Charizard
Alexander: Beedrill, Kingler, Breloom, Marowak, Bronzong, Druddigon

Jeff came out in this battle like a wildfire that Alexander had no hope of extinguishing. Nova (Mega Charizard Y) led the charge for Jeff with the first 4 KOs of the battle. Alexander was finally able to put Nova down with Warshroom (Breloom) thanks to some paralysis assistance. But it was way too late to matter. Nero (Nidoking) came in and finished off the last 2 KOs to mercifully put an end to this one.

Custos d. Zero

Battle Format: Non-Title, Single
Battle Video: 8VSG-WWWW-WWW8-DTJS

Lineups:
Custos: Torterra, Espeon, Arcanine, Cloyster, Scizor, Salamence
Zero: Steelix, Tyranitar, Slowking, Crobat, Heracross, Magcargo

The IPL World Champion suffered another defeat, this time against the man who will likely be the next challenger for his title. Zero started off well with Magcargo scoring the first KO and seemed primed for more. Custos called on Broly (Salamence) to put a stop to that, taking Magcargo down for the first of its 2 KOs. Heracross came in and put down Broly to even things out. But they didn’t stay even for long. Mega Scizor then took over the battle for Custos and steamrolled the rest fo Zero’s team to give the win to Custos.

Michael d. Lance

Battle Format: Triple
Battle Video: PG3G-WWWW-WWW8-ELLS

Lineups:
Michael: Malamar, Talonflame, Greninja, Noivern, Swampert, Electivire
Lance: Exeggutor, Rhyperior, Machamp, Raichu, Gengar, Dragonite

Michael kept his momentum from last week’s win over Zero rolling, and with it, his chance to get the next title match alive. Hermes (Noivern) led the way for Michael with 2 KOs, and indirectly causing a 3rd, with its Hurricane. Lance attempted to battle back with Siegfried (Dragonite) and Juzi (Mega Gengar) each getting a KO, but that was all Lance could muster as Michael cruised to an easy victory.

AJ d. Andy

Battle Format: Single
Battle Video: P7TW-WWWW-WWW8-MMBU

Lineups:
AJ: Clawitzer, Rotom (Heat), Ditto, Lucario, Greninja, Garchomp
Andy: Mamoswine, Volcarona, Ferrothorn, Gardevoir, Slowbro, Crobat

This was a great back and forth battle that came down to the wire. Andy grabbed the early lead by picking up the first 2 KOs of the battle. AJ answered with Ryoga (Garchomp), who proceeded to score 3 consecutive KOs to swing the momentum the other way. Andy looked to Laufigkeit (Volcarona) to turn the tide once again, and after a couple of Quiver Dances and a KO of Lucario, he seemed primed to do it. But AJ pulled out Retaliation (Ditto) out of his bag of tricks and cut Andy’s momentum off. Retaliation scored 2 KOs and then Ryoga took down Blue Bonnet (Mega Gardevoir) for its 4th KO and the final one of the battle.

Custos d. Andy

Battle Format: Single
Battle Video: 2U5W-WWWW-WWW8-J887

Lineups:
Custos: Staraptor, Scizor, Cloyster, Arcanine, Espeon, Torterra
Andy: Mamoswine, Crobat, Slowbro, Gradevoir, Ferrothorn, Volcarona

In a make-up from last week’s battle, Andy was again involved in hard fought, close battle, but again came up just short. Fries (Mamoswine) drew first blood for Andy with a KO right off the bat against Eden (Torterra). Custos fired back with Arcanine, who scored 2 KOs before succumbing to recoil damage. The trainers then traded KOs back and forth with Custos getting a pair of KOs to Andy’s one to gain the advantage. Blue Bonnet (Mega Gardevoir) then proceeded to grab 2 KOs to swing the edge to Andy. Down to his final Pokémon, Staraptor, Custos was able to come back and pick up the last 2 KOs to secure victory.

Week of 7/14/2014

Custos d. Michael

Battle Format: Single
Battle Video: FPAW-WWWW-WWW8-YRWK

Lineups:
Custos: Torterra, Espeon, Arcanine, Cloyster, Scizor, Staraptor
Michael: Talonflame, Swampert, Noivern, Politoed, Malamar, Electivire

Michael ran straight into the buzzsaw known as Mega Scizor. After Eden (Torterra) set up Stealth Rocks for Custos, Mega Scizor hit the field and proceeded to rain destruction down. After a Swords Dance boost, Mega Scizor ran off 5 straight KOs before Nereus (Politoed) was finally able to put the fire out. It was a temporary repreive though, as Cloyster finished Nereus off to end the battle.

AJ d. Jeff

Battle Format: Single

Lineups:
AJ: Reuniculus, Garchomp, Ditto, Feraligatr, Infernape, Scizor
Jeff: Metagross, Nidoking, Garchomp, Charizard, Tyranitar, Hippowdon

AJ grabbed control of this one early, and thanks to some unfortunate luck by Jeff, never relinquished it. Ryoga (Garchomp) scored the first 3 KOs of this battle, with the third coming on its way down at the hands of Metagross thanks to its Rough Skin ability. Jeff lost 2 more Pokémon before he was able to fire back, and by that time it was too late. Nero (Nidoking) grabbed a pair of KOs, but was taken down by Retaliation (Ditto) to end the battle.

Alexander d. Lance

Battle Format: Single
Battle Video: FMAW-WWWW-WWW8-MGA3

Lineups:
Alexander: Hitmonchan, Chimecho, Florges, Ursaring, Dragonite, Roserade
Lance: Exeggutor, Machamp, Starmie, Rhyperior, Gengar, Dragonite

Lance fell behind quickly in this battle and was never quite able to climb back into it. Alexander got on the board first thanks to 2 KOs from Ion (Roserade). Siegfried (Dragonite) was able to take Ion down, but Alexander brough out Breeze (Florges) to stall Siegfried’s momentum. Breeze picked a KO on Ondine (Starmie), which started a series of KO exhanges as each trainer took down 2 opposing Pokémon. Alexander called on his Dragonite, Highball, to finish things off, knocking out Aldo (Machamp) and Siegfried to secure victory.
